Home to Home Run for Children in Need

Kamran Hashemi is a Trustee of Panah Children Charity, who joined the charity in October 2018 following his 2017 cross country “300 Km, from Persian Gulf to Caspian Sea trek” challenge, raising funds for the children in need.

Kamran completed a further two challenges for the charity since, “Mount Damavand Climb” in August 2018 and “London Landmark Half Marathon” in August 2021.  This would be his fourth, and the hardest challenge ever and we are looking forward everyone supporting him.

The objective of this unique challenge is to raise awareness and funds for the children who have no voice and little future, without YOUR and OUR support.

Kamran says: "My challenge is to find support for 6000 children in need by committing myself to a 6000km run across 16 countries. This will take me all the way from my home town in England to my place of birth in Iran. I’ll be setting out on this challenge in July 2022 and shall be running a marathon on my active days and 15km on my rest days. If all goes well, I should complete my run by December 2022."

Stay tuned...

Panah Children is a volunteer-based charity and every Pound raised is spent directly on the children.

Flood Relief in Sistan-Balouchestan

We urgently need your help to provide flood relief in the Sistan-Balouchestan province. The province has been hit by a deadly flood that started on the 10th January 2020 in the South-East of the country, affecting three provinces including Sistan-Balouchestan, Kerman and Hormozgan. Among those, Sistan-Balouchestan is in the worst condition, where precipitation increased by 2,600% compared to last year. As of yet, 500 villages and 14 towns have been affected in Sistan-Balouchestan where floods have claimed at least three lives, demolished approximately 20,000 homes, schools, medical centres & businesses, and sadly killed thousands of animals- costing the province more than than £200-Million.

We are in discussion with the local people and the ministry of the affected areas, to discuss what can be done. With small donations, we can help farmers who have lost crops and live stock, purchase new stocks. If sufficient donations are raised, we can help with reconstruction of homes, jointly with another specialised NGO.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)

DMD is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness that leads to physical and movement disability. DMD patients have normal intelligence, but nonetheless are unable attend school alongside other children due to inadequate facilities that they need to get to school (e.g. transportation) and in the schools themselves (e.g. disability access). As a result, children cannot access education facilities and in some cases are forced to leave school.

Our Duchenne Campaign welcomes all financial and practical assistance to improve the conditions for children with DMD. Your donations can contribute to wheelchairs, toilet facilities, lifting equipment, expensive respiratory equipment, among other specialised equipment to improve the lives of children with DMD.

Children's Library Project in Torkaman Sahra

We are raising funds to build a small library for the children in the flood-affected area of Torkaman Sahra, next to the playground that we have recently built and equipped.

The cost of the library project is estimated at around £3,000. This would provide a focal point for the local community in the small town of Agh Ghala.

Supporting Deprived Children and Families

We have rigorous checks in place in order to make sure donations reach children or families most in need. As these needs can vary, we set up a plan best suited to the child or family in need. Funds to support children or families are raised through monthly-sponsorships or one-off donations.

Most often, donations are spent to support children's education. We make sure that the child being sponsored is doing well in their studies and can truly benefit from the sponsorship programme.

Our child sponsorship programmes aim to support  children directly, however we also educate families so that they can further support and encourage their children to make the most out of this opportunity. Additionally, donating towards a family would provide food for the family on a monthly basis.
